Guys....in my never ending quest to find rims...what do you think about this deal:

$250 for set of chrome Esky rims w center-caps. Chrome ain't pretty (peeling on backside of rim) but they are straight and I would end up powder coating.

Good Deal?

$400 total to get them sandblasted & powder coated black plus approx. $225 per tire mounted and installed puts me at around $1550 total investment. Plus whatever TPMS costs.

Does the math seem about right for the price of new tires and powder coating?

650 total for gloss black oem esky 22's is definitely a good deal IF the wheels are structurally sound. then slap on some nitto NT420's and you'll be a happy camper.

Other options to consider too:

replica ck375 22's gloss black for $1019 shipped on ebay right now:

They also make gloss black replica escalade 24's for $1650 and it would look a lot like this on your ride (you could black out the center caps):

Thanks Felix.

No 24's for me. Although they do look amazing.

They're being sold at a tire shop. So I was going to have them check the balance on the machine. I haven't seen them in person; only photos. Anything else I should do other than visually inspecting for cracks or bends?

Does sound like an awesome deal - just wondering why they are priced so low? But if you do have the opportunity to see them in person and ensure they are legit, I would definitely do that.

Hopefully it's not too good to be true!

All the best!

Ah I see well are they gonna let you return them if they won't balance properly? 250 does sound "too good to be true"...

Working in the industry(macho knows) they might have nothing into them and no that they are going to be sitting on them forever if they don't unload them. I just did that with some chrome Nissan wheels. Guy asked me if I had anything because he wanted to powder coat them. He got a sound set of rims for $100 total. Otherwise they were going to the scrap yard. I'd check em out, just have them spin each one on the balancer.

Where are you getting them powder coated at macho? I got mine done last year for half that price and the came out great. If you want the info ill shoot you a PM, ,lemme know. They had a "black Friday" promotion where they load up on things that people wanted PC'd black.

Thanks everyone for the advice. They looked ok in photos. Talked to the guy over the phone and he said the chrome was peeling on the back side of the rim. Hopefully I can get out of work and get up to see them before they're sold out from under me like the past few times

As long as they check out I should be good to go right??

I just called a local shop and they said $400. I haven't shopped around yet. Just wanted to get a ball park to see of the total investment would be worth it as opposed to buying new rims. They have to sandblast them so my understanding is that is part of the cost??

Yeah as long as there isn't any cracks or bends they will be good. Inspect the bead area to see make sure there isn't any wear on the rim part that the tire seals up against. My guess is that they are in good shape. If there a reputable shop they will give you your money back if the powder coater sees something that you missed.

I just bought a set for 550 w/ the chrome peeling on the back as well. I sanded it down, peeled the chrome off, cleaned, and spray painted myself (rattle can job). I think it turned out ok. I have a thread on it somewhere. I'm kinda w/ Felix and say after spending 1500, you might as well get the reps brand new.
