I have some plans for my 1998 GMC Yukon 4x4 SLT.

Heres what she looks like right now.

Im probably gonna wait till these tires wear out but either way...

Wanna get it repainted. Original color, kinda like that copper/maroon color its got. But what I had in mind is, instead of doing that bottom 2 tone in silver, getting it line-x black. Getting the front smoothie bumper and rear bumper also done in black line-x.

6" Rough Country lift and changing the wheels to 18x10 (same style but in black. That super finish is a pain to keep clean since I ranch with my truck) with 35" tires.

Having a push bar with 2 KC/PIAA lights and a roof rack with 4 KC/PIAA lights and the extra tire/wheel mounted on top.

What do you all think?
Suggestions and comments welcome.

I toyed with the idea of line-x on the lower portion, but decided against it as it would make my dark green truck even darker, which I didn't really want, especially with black wheels. In your case with that copper color, I think it would work, not only that, it would look good. The smoothie bumpers would be cool too, I've never seen anyone line-x bumpers before (other than winch bumpers)

The roof rack idea is cool, but I have an issue with the tire up there, as that will make your truck more top heavy than it is and unless you're going to be low-speed off-road all the time, it'll be a big object in the wind slowing you down killing your economy. Better Idea imo would be to fab up a tire carrier on the rear, or a tire carrier bumper.

nice, i thought about mounting it on the back but im not sure about it because of the barn doors. Im not a fabricator myself.

Anyone know where they make something like that?

theres another thread in the exterior section about doing the lower portion in bed liner that just popped up.

i plan on having the silver on mine Line-Xed this spring as well as the front bumper. (rock chips and salt have ate the rocker on the driver side.) as long as you keep it semi-smooth it should look, and clean up, really good. don't care to much for the ones that leave it on there looking like 36 grit sand paper, looks cheap.

everything else sounds good to me (other than the tire on the roof, see below)

I have a defender roof rack picked out for mine as well as the rear bumper, just waiting on finds.

Swing away tire bumper: (one i want)

could also use one of these for the spare:

it won't be perfectly smooth, can't remember where i saw the display, may have been 4wheelparts but it wasn't like the roll on liner i put in the tracker i used to have. trying to clean that was horrible.... I've got a "hook-up" through work for line-X, guy has the grill and exo-bumper bar on his super duty done and it looks amazing. i hated the idea until i saw his truck.

shipping will probably add a hundred or two on top of it. from the same company my winch bumper is from, and its ridiculous in build quality in my opinion. slid right in the frame rails and bolted right up.

i just asked that on that other thread you mentioned...

Wondering if that guy was gonna use one of those roll on do it yourself liners for the bottom section of the truck. ^ your Tahoe looks sick by the way!

May not be what you're after, but I have a rear spare tire carrier that is hitch mounted. Obviously its removeable (which I like) and it folds down instead of to the side. Like you I have barn doors too. It also has a spot to mount my hi-lift jack. I dont always have it on my truck, but its nice for longer trips and out on the trail. I can also switch it between my different vehicles, and its a lot cheaper than some of the other carriers Ive seen out there.

A smooth bedliner material would look pretty good. I have thought about doin the same kinda thing to my Yukon. I was told that you cannot bedline any of the plastic fender flares so keep that in mind.
