Well since you’ve been a member here since February, you have to have read ad nauseam about all the other people that are complaining being in the same boat…. what makes you think your experience was going to be any different? That’s gotta be the hottest topic on this forum….
Mine sat without parts for almost a month a few months back, do you know who found the parts? Me. My dealer said they were unavailable. I got on the phone and didn’t get off until I found one and had it sent to them after waiting a month.

I joined in February, but I ordered last September, the dealer had the allocation, and it went to 2000. I did a Google search in February as this order was not like any previous orders, not even the annual fleet order where the company I own replaces around 20-25 vehicles a year, all have been GM, except this year, we ended up with 17 Fords, 3 GMC Sierra's, and 2 Silverado's. This is the first year I have had to go elsewhere, mainly because GM could not commit to any dates, and unfortunately I don't like paying employees to sit because they have no vehicles, nor telling customers they won't be getting what they ordered because I can't get it there. I was hoping after 6 months to get some word from GM, but 9 months later GM still tells the dealer the same thing, it's at 2000.

Ordered a Yukon Denali 3/30/22. After checking updates etc, I learned that my order has been accepted but doesn't have a production date. Since it is almost July, I'm wondering if my order will be reverted to a 2023 or will I get a 22 late in the year. I also have the Diesel and max tow package and feel that's probably what the hold up is. Wondering if I would have better luck just ordering a Sierra 2500 with the regular Duramax. Getting frustrated now.
Uhhhh waiting times on 2500 HD diesels are like 9-12 months, worse than Yukon’s

Being part of multiple automotive forums it’s pretty clear that the way GM is handling this supply chain crisis is abysmal. It started with them being completely unprepared to keep a reliable supply chain going in the beginning of COVID and counting marbles instead of investing in redundancies, down to being completely unwilling to correct the situation 2+ years in by continuing to struggle to a degree that a fourth grader would’ve figured out how to resolve by now.

It’s completely laughable how they handled and continue to handle this, from removing key features (and promising later who-knows-when retrofit??) they can’t even built the descoped trucks RIGHT NOW not confident they are able to provide a retrofit in a timely fashion. And how about the insult-to-injury $25 credits. When BMW was skipping on touch screens in their X5/X7 models (mind you, this was only for a few months) at least they were giving customers a $500 credit as opposed this joke of a credit.

Forget Lexus and BMW. Why is it that Ford and Stellantis are able to actually ship products without key features missing and provide better statuses/ETAs to their customers and actually meet/deliver them. WITH parking sensors, steering locks and 4 way lumbar…

Because not nearly as many people want them....

I will agree that their system is terrible etc., but their level of demand is much higher than the competition and problems multiply with volume. It's not like these are piling up and no one wants them...

I looked at the wagoneer 2 and the ones on the lot have no packages. They are not allowing dealers to order certain packages because they did not have enough chips. If you custom ordered one you could but the wait was 3-4 months.

I have yet to find a Tahoe/Yukon locally that’s on the dealer lot for sale. I have found expeditions and wagoneer on lots for sale.

Don't get me wrong - I'm NOT defending GM, but have you taken a look at the threads on the Expedition forum? Numerous people have had their orders "in production" and are now on "chip hold." As much as we see the word "Midlothian" thrown around on this forum, the phrase "chip hold" is pretty popular over there. Everyone has their issues right now. GM is not on an island here. As far as vehicles shipping without features - the Expedition has been shipping without 2nd row climate controls, hands free tailgate and a few other features on the high end trims. I will say, Ford seems to have a much more "customer friendly" order tracking system in place, but it's also not without issues.

A little communication goes a long way. At least Ford can tell their customers the trucks are on chip hold. It took GM 10 weeks (for me, longer for others) to notify customers their trucks are on chip hold instead of just being produced with a VIN and no ETA or communication as to what is going on.

If your order was at status code 2000 or higher prior to ~10 days ago then it will be a 2022. If it’s still at status code 1100, then it got converted to a 2023 order like 10 days ago. Dealer should know by now.
That isn't accurate. Mine was at a 2000, until this morning. I was called by my saleman who said GM informed them this morning that mine would not be built in MY 2022 due to engine constraints. GM advised the dealer to place the order as a 2023, but be aware their are already constraints, he just didn't know what they were, GM didn't tell them. What no one can answer is, am I back inline, or do I get priority over those whose orders were converted and placed after mine? Since it will be a 2023 now, it will be over a year before I see it, if GM can get their act together and actually build it, and deliver it in September. I wonder how many others are being told today?
