WOW! Finally someone that is into Orion's. I have 2 12" Orion HCCA running on a Rockford T40001bd. I am now in the process of taking it all out and putting Dynamat on the roof, sides and doors and suede while I am at it. Because the roof makes a sound when the bass hits like it is a tin can. I have been into audio for the last 10 years and Orion hcca the new model subs are amazing. Best 12's I have ever bought. I was doing 149.7db on regular music in my BMW X5. In my Yukon XL i havent metered it but will do so on the 28th there is a SPL comp./Car show. I have always came on top with my Orions, beaten JL's, JBL's, Rockford's and of course Kicker. With Orion HCCA you have to point them straight up or straight down. If you have any questions let me know or call Orion they are willing to help all the time.:rocking: Also price they are going to be each around $400-$500 and FYI if you find 12" get them because they are short on stock if not out stock everywhere.

while good subs, dropping them in will not generically make them louder than other brands, far less in a SPL designed box which will sound like poop daily.

dre, should be a nice gain, be sure to check manufactures rec's on the right box for you man.

Well mine arent in a SPL box but I have beaten who has been up against me. Trust me they pound really loud compared to other brands only if the combination is right. BTW when I was hitting 149.7db was with a MTX TA92001d and now I have the Rockford T40001bd which is 4890 watts RMS @ 1ohm. Also you might want to check out youtube and type in Orion HCCA there is all kinds of videos on these subs. Look at the combination of subs and amps they have and the damage these subs will do. dre what you can do is measure the area that you want the box to fit in and give Orion a call they will tell ask you some questions. Therefore they will figure out the configuration of the box for you.

I've seen it all from street beat to SQ to all out SPL. It takes alot to get any decent numbers, then when you speak numbers, you have several ways to determine how those number derive. dash, headrest, kick, legal, port, etc, etc. Then you have to see what meters.

By 'dropping in' certain sub will not always gain and maximize output. It takes the power, and appllication ( enclosure)
I've seen 148's off two L78's. 155's off L5 12's.

while youtube is a fun toy, and way to past time, I never take youtube too seriously.

From my personal experience from what I have done to my vehicles to what has been in my local competitions my two 12" Orions HCCA have done nothing but the best 1st place. IMO I would buy orion hcca again. But then again there is always manufactures trying to be better then the previous manufacture. It takes a combination for the set up to work properly. Plus I have had help from a audio shop locally in order to pull my success through. I didnt make the box or the combination. My friend is the installer so help with that also. I have went to this shop for many years. So just try to find a reputeable shop to help or do it for you.

I would not get MTX 9500 if I had a choice between those and Orion. I would definately choose Orion. I had the 2 12" 9500's running on the ta92001 and i was loud but when I put the orion's in it was noticeably louder to the other shops. One thing to remember is have more power than needed. That way you dont run your amp hot and shorten the life of it. Good luck with your choice.
