It seems that this is a recurring theme with my Tahoe, I encounter one problem and then as soon as I fix that another one comes up. Pretty madening, but I guess I asked for this.

My problem is that my outside ambient temperature reading has been stuck at 74 degrees since noon when I went to get lunch - it's easily over 90 degrees here right now. This morning the temperature was near 74 so I'm assuming my ambient temp readout is malfunctioning and I'll need to replace the sensor. Anybody have to do that, or encounter this problem? Any idea what the cost for the parts/ labor will be? Also, could this affect my AC/Heat?

I tried searching the forum and could not find a similar thread.

Mine was stuck at 72 for a month after the original sensor failed and just read 99 all the time.. They replaced the sensor for a second time and now it reads 5-8 degrees too high which makes the auto climate control work incorrectly. Have to get it back in for a third shot at fixing this. Dealer searched their online GM service archives and haven't found any reason yet.
Oh and a good friend with an '09 Tahoe has a similar problem, temp will read correctly when first turning on the truck in the morning but it stays stuck at that temp until he shuts it off and on again. Sensor has been replaced and no fix.

I figured out that if I hold down the recirculating and ac button at the same time on the climate control unit it updates the temperature gauge... Totally random. Will see if it works normally from here on out. It's been pretty accurate except for this one time.

I'll have to give that a try. It was 95 here today and my temp gauge read 88.

Oh no! I am truly sorry to learn that you are experiencing some concerns with your vehicle. I cannot guarantee anything but I do want to look into these concerns. Could you please private message me including a brief overview of your concern, contact information, VIN, exact mileage, and preferred dealership?
