I replaced my radiator yesterday with a new one from Spectra, and ever since then the car has been overheating like crazy.

I replaced the T-stat, thinking that it might not be opening (it is now), I've tried to burp the system a bunch of times (parking it on a hill cold, opening the cap, running with the heater on defrost, etc.), all to no avail. The water pump is working and is only 9 months old.

Could it be that the new radiator I bought is totally clogged?

Possible but not likely. Did you hook up all the hoses?? Usually keeping the cap off while its coming up to temp will get the air out of it. Did you replace the fan shroud and put the fan back on?? Thermostat upside down maybe?? Belt routing OK and not somehow spinning the pump backwards??

I know this sounds crazy but did you make sure that the radiator outlets didn't come with plastic plugs in them? I have seen someone do that before.

Ding ding ding! The answer was, I'm an idiot. I had, somehow, left the cap on the top radiator inlet and managed to get the hose over it. I have no idea how.

Being stupid is fun!
