Hello, I have a 2010 tahoe with 415,000 miles 4x4. I got a check engine light while drive on the highway after hit a huge bump. after scanning with my code scanner. I got several codes.p2535 p069 and on the DIC i got a message saying service trailer brake system. after checking battery for corrosion and cleaning terminals. codes initial cleared upon start up. but came back immediately. then after trying to clear code scanner says request failure due to ignition switch power. checks ignition fuse and fuel pump fuse. with key on i get a fuel pressure reading of about 58psi. after startup it drops to around 45psi . i have no drivability issues. other than the check engine lights for the codes stated. I believe I have a wire rub to ground possible. but can't locate.

No, nothing was connected to the 7 pin either. This has factory brake controller.

Your fuel pressures are fine.

Was the code P069 or P069E?

If it was P069E on the code, that was a request from your FPCM to the ECM to set the check engine light. Your FPCM has the integrated trailer brake controller in it, so perhaps a ground issue in your trailer harness caused the FPCM to become unhappy. The FPCM are known to get water into them and have issues, so you may have a short inside the FPCM from water intrusion which is causing problems with the trailer brake controller circuits. A faulty ground to the FPCM is pretty common as well. There is a chassis ground very near the FPCM with causes issues as well.

On the P2535, my manual says you have an ignition switch or wiring issue.

Was the code P069 or P069E?

Hello, yes I have the p069E code also. I located to 2 grounds near the FPCM. they were located near the driver side body mounts .they didn't look bad. I did give them clean with some steal wool. also took apart the 7pin trailer connector, didn't see anything wrong. Found a video where a guy took apart the FPCM and it was definitely corroded. He used some electronic cleaner and did some light scrubbing with a soft brush. And then soaked in isopropyl alcohol. reinstalled and it cleared the codes. I am traveling and long ways from home. So I'll try that when I return. As for the moment I have to codes but I don't have any drivability issues. Plus if I do in fact a have a fault FPCM it will need to be programmed. So I might cleaning it and install in my local repair shop parking lot when I return. So if I clean it and it doesn't work. At least it will be at the shop with out a tow required.

If it ends up being the FPCM, I believe Dorman advertises a unit which is a direct OE replacement with TBC that requires no programming (plug and play), not sure how that works though.
