Welp another tranny blown. At least this one lasted more than a year. Although I expected much more out of it for $2500+ and all the hype about how they are innovators of this POS tranny. I am convinced that NO ONE can build one of these better than GM. So I have pushed the hoe aside for now probably going to do a 4L80 in the spring or summer.

No story to tell. No towing or racing. I was at a light on a casual sunday morning, hit the gas and it sounded like the transfer case gears were grinding. Truck wouldnt move. Pushed it to the side and got a tow home. End of story.
I'm not sure what broke inside. I never built a tranny but gears come to mind. I dont plan on tearing it down anytime soon so your guess is better than mine.

Are you running oversized tires? If so did you ever re-gear? If not, that can create an extra load of wear on your transmission.

Looks like some pices of the sun shell. I would like to see pics of the tear down as well. There is nothing wrong with the 4l60e. It does have weak points but with an easy rebuild just make it stronger :)
