I'm not sure if you guys have owned other Chevys thru the years but this is a known problem with Chevy manufacturing process. I have seen it in recent year camaros and corvettes as well, corvette forum has a long thread on this. Luckily my vette didn't had rubbing/peeling issue but m,y 2018 Tahoe had it on multiple panels. Only fix is to repaint them and adjust the tightness. Sad that Chevy management is not paying any attention to numerous complains on this.
We’ve got the same thing happening on our ‘21 Yukon only in different areas. The interesting thing is, 3 others in our neighborhood have the same vehicle, but one is a Tahoe and the other an Escalade. Same exact paint peeling issues on every single one. See pics. I’ve been to 3 different dealers now and have now been told I have to go back to the “selling dealer” that is 100 miles away.

My fiancé and I just bought our 2021 Tahoe and we are having the same issue. The front bumper does not align correctly and is causing the paint to peel. We have been to the dealership twice and the same issue keeps coming up. Has anyone got to the bottom of this and figured out a fix so the number doesn’t pop out by the headlight. Almost every 2021 Tahoe, gmc or Escalade I’ve seen has the same issue. Even if you push it in while it’s parked to make it line up as soon as you drive 1 mile down the road it pops right back out. Really annoying on a brand new $80,000 suv!588C1588-1444-4E01-BCA8-5D959A16756B.jpegFDDC4D61-F07A-47E3-81FE-EE6B22A1262E.jpeg257D801F-7911-49D9-BF00-5CFF6F0AB743.jpeg

So far my 2021 Tahoe with 1,750 miles on it only has the paint a little messed up near the drivers side headlight.

Not happy about it (gusssing the other areas will get worse as seen in some of the other photos over time). I can’t believe that got past their quality control/product testing before they released the product.

My list of things to check before and after a test drive is six pages long and growing longer.

This can be corrected by unbolting the fender liner and loosening the bolts to the bumper bracket to the fender and then reinstalling, or a new bracket is needed.

Tailgate 2021 Tahoe paint issues. Along the rear long Chevy applique I had several tiny chips pf paint missing. (see picture). View attachment 274839 I purchased the Tahoe through AAA buying service and they obtained the vehicle at a dealership over 100 miles away from my location. After getting three quotes, the dealership had me go to a local body shop ( the lowest bid) for repair. That shop made it worst. (See picture). View attachment 274840 The AAA buying service is now paying for a local dealership to repair the paint and replace the applique panel.

The 1st shop either rushed the job and didn't give the repair enough time to dry or they didn't prep the PLASTIC panel (that the applique mounts to) properly according to five body shops I consulted.

Bottom line: Do some research on what needs to be done to you vehicle and ask the shop (and other professionals) what they intend to do before you have then touch it. Although the 1st shop was highly recommended, they really did a bad job.
So not knowing exactly what the shop did, the bottom photo is after it was repaired? The upper trim on the liftgates is plastic and can be removed by taking off the interior trim panel on the liftgate, there all the bolts and clips can be accessed to the trim and appliques. The lowest bid from any body shop will usually be the most shotty job you can get. A reputable shop will not always be your lowest bid. That plastic panel should have been removed from the liftgate and the applique and lights removed. Gouges on plastic can be fixed and sanded back down. Depending on what products and booth their using, a panel can be sprayed and paint set within a matter of 1-2 hours.

The bottom photo looks like someone tried removing the chrome applique with a clip tool from the front and marred the plastic.

^ Correct.

This has been going on for decades. Nothing new. Its not just GM, its all of them. We repaint Hondas like crazy right off the truck from the factory. Ford is just as bad. The average Joe would be surprised at how many new vehicles are fixed and repainted before they are ever sold.

Whats up i have a 2021 RST my paint is chipping in the same spot also corner of bumper and front fender and on the trunk along the moulding. Ive brought to dealer and they told me it looks like someone tried to steal the moulding and refuse to fix it. Truck has 7000 miles on it. I am beyond furious and corporate denied my claim. Anyone have any idea what else to do
Post up some photos.

Welcome to the forum from Oregon.

You would think some one would see the gap difference. I mean, look at the other side damn it! Had to get a district manager to come see that. What a bunch of clowns!
