Well after painting my rear vent appliques, i discovered DupliColor 8624 Olympic White code paint does not match my truck despite the matching paint code. Its not even close. I used the code from the glove box. The stuff i painted isn't the "refrigerator" white like my truck, it almost looks like its in between that white and the off white / pearl the Escalades are. Advice? assuming after i color sand and buff, they will still be too far off, should i just paint them black? or can a shop get me some paint that actually matches better or what? sucks cause my paint job turned out awesome lol. don't really want to re-sand and re-paint but i don't have much choice i suppose. the white looked like it was gonna match, but definitely too off white after clearing etc.

Is a body shop too expensive?

There's no way I would put them on with a different color white, but I wouldn't do black either because they really need to be colormatched

well the body shop is gonna be expensive now sincei already wasted like 35 bucks in materials for me to paint it lol... its perfect paint, just the paint code is nowhere near the factory paint color. what i'm asking is : how does the body shop match it if the code is completely not even close

after some intense googling, it appears my problem is not actually the white paint (it seemed to match fine before the clear went on), but the DupliColor clear coat is known for yellowing stuff. guess i need to just sand the clear off hopefully itll look ok

i am going by the code in the glove box, which according to Dulpi-Color is called Olympic White. I see no mention of any Summit White (in DupliColors system anyway). I might try "Arctic White", i need something a shade "whiter". This Olympic White is just a hair yellowish, not stark ass white like my truck seems to be, have you had anything painted on your truck using Summit White and whered you get Summit White from? paint code in glove box is 8624

In Duplicolors application guide, for ALL years, there is no "Summit White" Is there another company like DupliColor that i would be able to readily find that has this mystery Summit White color?
