local vinyl guy that ive used for decals in the past has his explorer completely wrapped and it looks awesome. his helper has his newer dodge partially wrapped and it also looks amazing. not sure what he charges for it but i wouldn't think twice about letting him wrapping my vehicles. (he also does a ton of dirt track cars)

Went and got a couple quoted from paint and graphic shops. For paint it would cost me 4-5 grand an it would take around 2wks. For vinyl wrap it would cost me 3 grand and take 2-3 days. They would be using 3M vinyl wraping which is the best on the market right now. Looks like I will be wrapping my car(s) from now on. Its probably no need for me to get a new front bumper/valance now since they can wrap arond the chrome. All I need to do now is pick out a nice set of rims and tires. Im getting pretty excited because I know its gonna look good IMO.

$3k to wrap, eh? :hmm:

When you got your quote for the paint work was there any body work that needs to be done to your vehicle that might have possibly bumped that price up?

We get our trucks advertising done and its about 600 a truck for just decals, i would think full wrap would be in that area.

We had a truck at my work wrapped a few years ago. It was a brand new 07 Tundra and it was completely wrapped, top to bottom. The wrap looked perfectly fine until they traded it in for a 2010 Tundra last year. So I can tell you that they last at least 3 years sitting in the sun all day. The truck was never garaged, it always sat outside and never in the shade. They didnt do a ful wrap on this Tundra though, just the company logos on the doors this time.

My quote was over the phone, they did not see it. Each paint shop I called said that its more involvement to paint a vehicle flat/matte for some reason. He also said with paint if you get scuffs or scratches you cant buff them out. With 3M Vinyl Wrapping its less of an issue.
