Wondering if anyone has painted or vinyl wrapped their antenna? Guessing the lead in the paint would impact the radio signal, but I've seen them color matched on a few trucks online and wondering how...

all i have to say is if you choose to vinyl wrap it, good luck. you would be better off just going and have it painted, dont worry about the paint bc i dont think they put lead in the paint since the 50s. but i could be wrong.

I went and got a shorter one off ebay that is black. I can't stand that stock antenna hitting parking garages and branches. I can't even believe that my truck has one of those cheap ass antennas anyways...the rest of the industry has gone to antennas embedded in the glass. Leave it to GM to charge top dollar for their trucks and put a 70's era antenna on the thing. Weak.

No lead in paint, its against the law now. Our antennas stick out like a sore thumb, i hate them. They have low profile ones?

I think thats only on the AV and EXTs. Im pretty sure my Tahoe has it in the glass since I only have the sharkfin antenna on the roof. I believe the sharkfin antenna is what madodger is talking about.

Yes the beautiful black shark fin on the drivers side roof. If Steven cant wrap it then I assume it cant be done. Now i just have to pry it off and paint it.
