So i picked up a couple of bumpers front and rear without the impact strips since I removed all the moldings. The front is chrome and in great shape other than a small dent on one corner, and the rear is a black painted one but has alot of surface rust. I called my local powder coater and asked how much to get them sandblasted. They told me $45 each.. Damn! I didnt even pay that much for the bumpers.. So hardware store bound I found some 3m sandblaster pads for the grinder and they where on sale. Sweet..

Started with the chrome one.. grinded it all up.

Filled the small dent and put on a couple of coats of etch primer.

While that dries, im gonna start on the rear bumper.
Went to the local paint supply and had them colormatch me a quart of base. Also purchased some high build primer. I have clear from a project I had. So far im in around $200 for everything.. Ill post my progress if you guys are interested..

Dude looks awesome! Why not no rall pan?

What did you use to fill in dents? Bondo? Even try hammering out the dent first!

Keep up the good work!

Thanks guys! Would of liked a roll pan, but dont really like the way it looks with the gas tank hanging so low on the two door hoes. But it was gonna be my plan b if I didnt find a rear bumper cause I sure wasnt going to buy a new one... I did dollied and hammered out the dent, filler was just to smooth things out. Today I primered them with high build, sanded with 320, primed again, then final sand with 600 grit. They are smooth... Also took off the grille, cut off the stock molded inserts, sanded, sprayed adhesion promoter, and primed.. Ready for paint! Finally, the hard parts are done..

BTW, got my paint code from the rpo, and it showed it as 39U "DARK ADRIATIC BLUE METALLIC"
The paint shop could not find that code for a 95 tahoe. It showed it as code 39 "INDIGO BLUE".
Very strange as the 39U from the newer tahoes is a darker blue. I matched the paint chips to my hood and fenders and Indigo blue looks to be a match. The paint guy was nice enough to mix me a little of both so that I could be 100%. Indigo blue does match better. But like all hues, really cant tell until they cure..

Lol.. I have a paint gun that I use for primers and sealers only, and my old Sharpe Platinum that I use for base and clears. I also have a couple of cheap back up and touch up guns. Powered by my home made air compressor that consists of 3 Gast motors and a surge tank that I converted into an air tank..
