Parasitic Draw

Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue.

If the vehicle sits for more than two days, the battery is completely dead. Has happened about 6 times (only 6 times with it sitting that long). 2017 Yukon Denali XL with 5,800 miles. No aftermarket electronics or chargers plugged in. Dealer looked at it once already and said battery and charging system was OK. Key has not been left in it either. Back to dealer for this again and for a horribly squeaky rear suspension.

Mine has sat a few days and it starts up fine. Has it only done this once? If any interior lights are left on they automatically turn off after I believe 10 minutes which I love because my kids have left them on a few times! For it to kill your battery it must have been something drawing some current because a new vehicle should not be going dead!

It has happened about 6 times which is everytime it has been parked for 2-3 days. Agreed new vehicle should not do this! Nothing left on. No kids at home It goes into "sleep" mode like it should and you would think that would prevent the draw-down. That's why it's so puzzling.

I have the same issue with the squeaky rear suspension, going in on Monday to look at wonder if it's the same issue you have.

I always hated when something was wrong with one of my vehicles and I would take it in and it wouldn't show up! I think they believe we are making it up or something and then as soon as I pulled away or got home it would act up again. They would say sorry there's nothing we can do because it won't do it while they had it or something like that. Has it only happened the one time?

Did your vehicle sit awhile before you bought it? Battery could have died then--once they are pretty discharged, they don't come back the same. How is the dealer testing? Do they put it under load?

Also, squeaky rear suspension is probably the parking brake cables--another victim of sitting awhile--the outer cover can get a bit of surface rust and get squeaky. There is another post somewhere in here on where they get squeaky and where to spray lubricant. Pretty much look where they have to flex and you'll find the spots, Works very well.

According to the buildsheet and dealer info. it was shipped a week after build and was only on the lot for about 20 days. I was chasing a Unicorn (Summit White, tan interior and retractable running boards). A garage Queen since I brought it home. Just wrong for a $82k MSRP vehicle (but my 4th Denali so the product fits) to sound like and old boat trailer going down the road.

Yes, wondering if the battery is shot after the discharges. Stock battery is pathetic, compared the the AGM batteries I normally put in.

Agreed. I know the dealer will find everything OK so my plan is to delay picking it up for 3-4 days and then when it takes them 20 minutes to retrieve it from the back lot I can ask "what took so long? Battery dead?"

I have the same thing going on with a 2001 Suburban that I brought back from an ignored state. I had a new Pioneer system pro installed - next to top of the line, and the problem started. However, we have traced all back through and see no current draw. By the way, a new battery was installed. If it sits more than a day or 2, its dead. My immediate solution was to buy a a Jump N Carry. It works better than I thought it would. However, it is still a pain to have to jump her off every now and then. If I ever figure it out, I will post the solution.
