Passanger seatbelt issue in my 02 tahoe

everyone that rides in the front passanger seat always complains about the seatbelt and i didnt bother with it untill recently i had to ride in the passenger seat for awhile and whats happening is its locking as if there has been a sudden stop but unlike the drivers seat belt it doesnt unlock you have to unbuckle it and pull it around you again anyone run into this problem or have any ideas

Maybe the level sensor is bad. I'd open it up to see if there's anything you can do to fix it. I'm not sure how complex the machanism is. If not fixable, try a jnk yard.

Any luck with this yet? Seems like I am having the same issue with my 05 Hoe. Havnt time to mess with it yet.
