Peddle adjustment not working!

So I think I’ve posted in the right spot. Fingers crossed.

This has been discussed before. Brake peddle adjustment not working. It makes the clicking sounds like it trying to move but doesn’t. So I’ve been looking around for sites like this one like this one. I want to do the work myself but find myself being cautious working on anything like the break. That’s the last thing I want to not work. Any suggestions as to what may have caused this and how to fix. If I do take it to the dealer what is the cost of fixing this? It’s interesting to note that the stabilitrac and the peddle adjustment have had recent problems for me. These two functions are located in the same thirds panel located beneath the air conditioning panel. I guess I’m happy it’s not an engine or transmission problem/s. It’s been a recent nickel and dime scenario. Still happy with the Tahoe overall. Just shy of 150k in miles.

Looks like a purple and yellow wire to motor. See if there is voltage there.



If you have memory seat module, then the switch signal goes through the MBEC to the memory seat module which sends power through the MBEC and to the motor..


The pedal adjustment won't have much to do with brakes other than pedal position. Since you hear a clicking sound, I am guessing your switch works. Try and pinpoint the sound if possible. Seems like it would have to be the relays in the MBEC or the motor gears. You could try and apply power/ground to pin 4/5 on the pedal assembly to make sure the motor works.

First off thank thank you. The sound is coming from the drivers seat. I don’t understand most of what you’re saying but Google is helpful. It’s coming to
me slowly.

That said when I press the peddle adjust its clicks like the button works but the sound comes down the drivers seat.

I'm guessing the seat memory module is under the seat.. It could be motor is shorted, or wires to the motor, or module is bad, or sensors on pedal position.

That narrows it down to everything. You're welcome!



Check for power on the purple and yellow wires. If there is power, then check the motor by powering it manually or measuring resistance maybe.

So what tools do I use and how do I use them. I have a tool that check for electricity when you’re changing switches in a home. To make sure there is no power and you don’t shock yourself. How do I manually power something up.

You will need a Multi meter or a test light to check to see if power is present. Watch you tube to learn how to use a meter.
