alright i get you. what benefits will a posi give me?

This is just me but I thought you were looking for cheap HP? spending $1,000 on a rearend will def give you some get up but money down the road your fuel economy will go to sht (Just consider visiting your favorite pump more often. I cant say what a higher gear ratio will give you but for a couple hundo more you could drop a 6.0 in it. I'm looking at around 1400 for the swap if I didnt want to do any internal work on the 6.0. Personally and Im sorry if i missed your current mods But I would do an intake maybe a throtle body spacer Headers arent a bad idea but be prepared for stuck bolts!!! ahhh and how could I forget the Black Bear Tune! Keep in mind all of those will swap over to a 6.0 later down the road!!!

Ok he is running 24" wheels so 4.10's will prob help his fuel Econmy. And that is a lower gear not a higher gear! Also I would never just drop a used engine in a vehicle always at least freshen up! Cost about $1000 more but like new then. And you can get a good LQ4 block here for about $400-$500 so $1700 all said and done but then the with a 6.0 swap the 4L60 is kinda weak tranny with the weight of our 6000lbs trucks.

Down the line I am looking at the fully built LS7. 441C.ID. Engine TSP makes!

hey guys i was going to start to modify the performance of my tahoe just want it to be funner to drive im thinking of doing a stall converter, LT headers, and a BB tune here are my questions if you guys can answer them all

1)ive heard the trailblazer v6 stall is a good upgrade because its a higher stall is this a good upgrade? and where can i get one and what would be the cost to have one installed?

2)ive been looking at LT pacesetter headers are these a good choice?

3) i live in colorado does anybody know if LT headers will pass emissions? what is required to install LT headers? is any modifications needed or are they FBO?

4)any other mods anybody recomends that wont be too high in costs? ive got a corvette servo CAI and a flowmaster muffler

5)i want to get these things cleared up soo prices on the stall and headers and the installation costs are something i want to get an estimate off

thanks everyone for any help

1)Cool ok so i see you have a Intake what kind? My aem intake made a nice little difference!

Next would be BB tune i did 93 octane ran nice paired with the CAI...

Once you get your tune BB will setup your truck for E-fan Mod so you can install 05+ GM suvs electric Fans improving throttle response they sell the hardware to install and a beefier pulley....

next would be headers and exhaust a re-tune would help

then your approaching cams and cranks I've heard z06's fit in our rigs and are cheaper than aftrmkt and better preforming

after that your in serious dough lol mine as well supercharge it a 6.0 is powerful but heavy.

ls1trucks goes into full depth about 5.3s i wish someone with a ton of 5.3 gm suv knowledge would post a master performance mod list...

One last thing.... do you have any pics of your grill colormatched from other directions? i was going to do mine after i get an OEM hd hood once i find one..

You should get all the bolt on things first before you tune it...

I did a cam in mine. It's a .607/.614 lift 219/227 duration 112 LSA. You will have to do valvesprings with a cam. Should do hardened pushrods too.

That cam has great street manners as I daily my burb. Can also get a higher stall to go with the cam for better of the line performance.

Yes I mean unless your going to splurge 2500 on performance parts at once you mine as well re tune In between by mail (I believe it's free after a in person if not its cheap!) just to keep things running top notch.... Many forget about the clutch.. I saw somewhere it improves power or throttle response 10-15% a lot less stress especially for us with 03 and unders

So true E-fans take a load off the engine! Also as stated above a better converter with a higher stall you want your cam if you do a cam to be paired to your converter!
