Have to agree with blueflamed. Gears and pcm tune will make a huge difference. Start off with your simple mods like cai, exhaust, e-fans, gears, etc, then have the pcm tuned to take into account all your mods. The tune will help the engine take advantage of the all the engine mods and really wake things up a bit.

yes a perfect stall range for these is about 2500-3500. Yank and Precision make great stalls.

BB tune: best mod I have done, period. It makes the tranny shift firmer, no sloppy shifts, raises top speed, and removed some torque management. It's like having a 2 barrel on a 350, then going to a 4 barrel. :)
They have their own link on this site, PM Haley or Jenna for more info.

Do your CAI, replace mufffler if you want. No need for cat-back. The stock pipe is ample, just replace the muffler. Then, if you want to swap gears, do that before tune. That will really wake up the 'seat of the pants' off line power. Then, have it tuned. tune will need gears in place to reset speedo.

Thanks BF! Great Info!!! You got me salivating now, thinkin' about the potential this truck has! I can't believe I didn't think of the stall!! I'm gonna check out the BB link now.

About the exhaust, what do you think of the stock manifolds? I just automatically thought: Headers (w/true duals), w/o even considering the possibility of stock mani's being good enough. Are they?

Thanks JK! When you say "PCM Tune", are you talking about modding the ECU? Do you reccomend a particular CAI, or are they all about the same? ....and about these E-Fans (another thing I can't believe I didn't think of), you have any links to your reccomended brands?

Thanks again guys! Very helpful and very much appreciated!

While gears are a great mod..not exactly cheap...even more so if you ave a 4wd Tahoe. By PCM tune ..he means actually having a real tune..not just a generic handhald tuner.
