Am I a retard, I don't get this plate? What is 888B88B? I know it's probably real obvious but for some reason I can't figure it out......

I tihnk it is just meant to be hard to make out. Like say you get hit by one of those traffic light cameras or a speed trap camera. The cops stand around going, is that a 8 or a B?
But then again if they get the make/model it should be to hard to find out who has a vanity plate with 8b88b88b88
