Hey guys,

Let me start by saying that I put a hold on buying new rims/tires for 08 Denali.
I got into an accident that put a dent into my mod budget so I just decided to paint my OEM 20"s black and let the issue rest for now.

So now the mod budget is entirely dedicated to performance.

Here's the package I settled on:
1- AEM Brute Force CAI, dry filter, ordered and shipped
2- Magnecor 8.5 competition wires, ordered and shipped
3- American Racing Headers and catless y-pipe, 1 7/8, ordered, shipping this week
4- Black Bear Performance Autocal ECU and TCU tunes, 93 octane and VP-MS109 octane tune files (if Justin tunes for 109?), ordered, awaiting stock of Autocals to ship
5- Mast Motorsports L99/L92 ** cam and springs, 224/238, .578/.593, 115, being sourced and awaiting quotation
6- 75 shot nitrous

Aiming at around 500+ or- to the wheels with the nitrous as phase 1.

So what do you guys think?

Do you think I should order pushrods to be on the safe side as I intend to ask Justin to raise the rev limit on the shift points as reasonably much as he can.

Thanks in advance for you input.

Sorry, wrong forum. Mods could you please move it the performance section? Thanks

With all this mods I think pistons also need to be changed. The reason is detonation appearence when using nitrous, so that can be harmful for the pistons. I'd recommend Manley pistons, but depends of the budget for mods.
Also fuel pump is also better to be upgraded...

Are you planning on anything for the Trans??? If not, you better start thinking about it.

Dont need to change pistons for 75 shot, not even a 150.
Just a Proper tune and all is well.

Actually ezdaar is right on that one. Pistons are safe at that level.
In any case, nitrous will only be used when absolutely necessary.
The fuel system, pump and injectors, should be adequate for those mods too, according to the good folks @BBP, who will be supplying that proper tune :).

I began researching options for upgrading the tranny.
Justin said it should be ok at this power level.
Eventually, I will need to upgrade it anyway when I move to SC.

Toss in a set of comp or crane Full roller 1.8 rockers in that list.

I'll start looking into it right away. Could you elaborate though?
I would have though pushrods, its anything, would receive a recommendation.
I'm on the fence about them as I intend to ask Justin to raise the shifting points.

Thanks.

Haha..."nitrous" and "necessary" in the same sentence.

Seriously should probably look at the transmission as a sooner, rather than later, kinda thing.

I know, I know... Nitrous and necessary...
Thing is, my schedule/day to day life allows me to have some serious road fun about once a month, which is the only time I will use the nitrous.

A 75 shot shouldn't overwhelm engine/tranny with a good window switch. The 6L80 ought to be sturdy enough for occasional use, should it not?

The plan is to drop the nitrous altogether a few months down the road as I save up towards a blower. I will add the blower last, after reinforcing the tranny and the engine.

What did the headers cost you?

$1,403 shipped.

I have to get a word in for ARH.

I surfed over to their website and off of the contacts page I saw an email link to Nick Filippides direct. He is the president and co-owner of the company.

Thinking I'd lose nothing, but not really expecting him to reply, I emailed him directly.

Imagine my surprise when a few hours later, I receive a reply from Nick asking me for my phone number. I replied with my number, and, sure enough, a couple of days later he called.

Now he is in the US and I am in Kuwait. That's as long distance as it gets.

We spoke for about a half an hour and he was super great, discussing all my current mods, future plans for the truck, weighing pros and cons of differrent types and brands of super chargers.

He has a lot of love for motoring and a lot of passion and pride in ARH products.

In the end, I think he gave me a great deal.

One of the best buying experiences I ever had.
