Picked up an OEM looking Backup camera worth $700 for $30 :)

great score...but i guess i don't see the point of having it on all the time...what will that gain to see behind you all the time?!? Just curious. It wouldn't be much work to get the reverse wire found to hook up the way it is stock.

keep in mind that in most states any video source visible to the driver is considered illegal....just a thought...but again i guess many members have an indash dvd with screen that's modded to do the same thing....lol

Perhaps, but put this in perspective:
- Anthony admitted he's a 19-year old 'kid' (mean no offense by that) that thinks having the cam on all the time will be cool
- Fact of the matter is if he does get pulled over, a cop is gonna be biased against a 19-year old in a truck like his
- Cop could easily see the camera monitor on, cite him for a ticket.

It's a realistic scenario here that he might not have thought of.

I'm not saying to wire it into your reverse switch, but at least put a power switch inline that you can turn the monitor off with in the event you do get pulled over.

Yea, I think I'll hardwire a "kill-switch" on my dash to control it in-case there is any problems with the 5-0. My step-dad is a police officer so I do have a "Family of a police office" sticker on my car and a ****** 9500ix so I hardly ever get pulled over and if I do its a warning :)

I second the switch, easy to do and you can also conceal the switch if you want!

you could do a 3 way switch so you can have it off, on all the time, or on with reverse only.

How would I wire that? I think that I would need to wire 2 different power sources (Power all the time, Back-up only power) to the switch to make that work, or maybe I'm wrong
