I assume they are similar to my night time surveillance cameras on my house,....not very noticable at all.

If they are tied into the camera then they should only light up when the camera power is energized to engage it. They shouldn’t be on all the time when the truck is running.I thought about wiring it up that way, but the my only complaint is that the LED lights that are built in to the camera would always be on as long as the vehicle is on. Not really an "issue", just don't want the lights on at night for instance while driving down the road. I am not sure if it may prohibit a cop from seeing my license plate with 4 LED lights right now to it.
Maybe I am just overthinking it...
But to have it where you can switch and view the rear camera at any given time, you have to have the camera on all the time. There is not a way, to my knowledge, to make it where to camera only comes on when you hit the camera button on the radio. If they are tied into the camera then they should only light up when the camera power is energized to engage it. I am going to power it up and see if that is that case. If they are not actually white lights, I will probably have it powered on all the time, but make it where it automatically switches when in reverse. This way I can see behind me whenever I want to. i just want to double check that they are infrared lights rather than bright white LED lights.I assume they are similar to my night time surveillance cameras on my house,....not very noticable at all.
