The tails are plug and play. LED reverse lights are pretty bright and are plug and play as well. I just don't see the point in spending all the time and money into HID's for reverse lights since you have to wait 10-15 seconds for them to reach a usable brightness. I like the instant full brightness of my LED's. :)

Felixgun - How did they turn out? Pics? Was it plug and play? $188 doesn't seem like a bad price at all. Did you get the LED reverse lights too?

They turned out better then expected. It was directly plug and play. I (for some odd reason) did not need the 6 ohm resistors like everyone else in the forums here are having to get to get rid of the fast blinking. No I actually purchased another HID kit (8000k, 55W bulb) to match my headlights with my reverse lights. I cut the original reverse "3157" bulbs and soldered on the HID bulbs and just attached kept the ballast attached on the inside of the tail light. Here is a before and after pic! I see you are from LA-- I actually live in Lafayette.. where you from?

Zach-- The minute the car is put in reverse the HID's come instantly on to where it is definitely bright enough to see. You are right though... They do "warm up" and get brighter but the "instant on" thing is definitely not an issue for me IMO.

The LED tails are awesome but I now love these LED Tails twice as much-- well worth the ~$50 i spent on a 2nd hid kit for the reverse lights. I also have an avic-z110bt with the nd-bc4 rear cam so it really does help me see out of the cam when I am in reverse. Don't get me wrong though.. i'm sure replacing the original G4 reverse bulb with an LED bulb to match the LED's on the tail light would look just as sick!

I'm from Baton Rouge. I def like your lights! Plan on finish installing my HID headlights/fogs this weekend and then I'm going to look into the G4 tails. I'll probably go with the LED reverse lights though because plug and play is super nice and easy! LOL. Thanks for the pics!

Awesome! So what all did it take to install these? I hear you have to seal them in a certain way or something like that. But I'm not sure.

While HID's are not a bad idea at all, LED's are also considerable. I have had people tell me they are extremely bright to them, and one girl is even wanting me to put some in her car's reverse lights. :Handshake:

Both are good choices, I just went with LED because of the ease of install and a more "stock-looking" brightness. They can be pretty bright if you get a nicely equipped bulb. I see HID's better for people without the reverse camera, but since I have that feature, I mainly use it for backing up and the LED's light up the ground tremendously.

Where could one purchase these "G4 Tails" online for a 2010 Tahoe LTZ?

Thank you!

So you don't have the reverse cam on your car? Because it does help light things up in the dark a whole lot.

Well you don't HAVE to seal them... but I did. Actually if you take the rubber seal off of the reverse bulb that came with your G4 LED tail's and combine it with the rubber seal of the HID bulb then you can get it flush and have it super tight on there. That's what I did at least...

BUT just to make sure i ran to autozone and picked up some high temp. RTV silicon sealant and put it on there. I've seen what water can do to inside of tail lights so I did not want to take that risk of getting any condensation in there and messing up the look of the tail light. Plus I cut off the reverse bulb that came on the G4 LED's and soldered the new HID bulb straight into it and put some electrical tape around it for a little extra re-enforcement.

It may sound like a lot but I think it's worth it to just put the extra time into the initial install because my plan is to NEVER take my tail lights off again. I love how they look so stock too and I feel the same exact way about leaving that "stock" look to my car, but really the pictures do not do it justice.. if you saw these HID reverse lights in combo with the LED tails I think you would agree they look sick!! We apparently have the same taste in stuff because everything you've done to your car is everything I have done (and WILL do haha) to my mine..

Oh nice i'm less then an hour away. Yea I have the HID headlight lows but I got pulled over in my old 2001 Tahoe Z71 for having the fog lights on (bc it is illegal to have them on if it is not raining or "foggy") and had to take a field sobriety test by a state trooper. Because of this i've never even turned on my new tahoe's fog lights.. ever...

I do have the reverse camera, so that's why my LEDs are adequate enough to light up what I see in the picture. I think HIDs are better for those without the feature since they have a greater output.

So it's illegal to have fogs on when it's not rainny/foggy?!?!?! that's crazy I always see people doing that and I turn mine on a lot too. Damn that's good to know though! I'm still in shock.. LOL I hope you passed your field sobriety test. That's not fun!

YES. Isn't that crazy? LA state trooper just waiting to pull people over. He didn't even give me a ticket. He just told me to keep them off unless they are needed. I used to turn them on all the time and since then, I have not used them once. 2 HID low beam bulbs are sufficient though so it's understandable. And yes... I passed the sobriety test!
