I just picked up a 2000 Yukon a couple days ago and I'm trying to plan some mods to make it mine and not get lost in the parking lot, along with turning some heads too.

Right now I'm trying to stay cheap since I'm currently finishing up the build of my Camaro, but that should be done here in a month or so. So the plan is early spring to get parts coming in for the Yukon, but I like to research before I make purchases.

Plan is in about this order...
55 watt HID lows & 35 watt HID fogs 5000k color
Clear Headlights & park lights
Tint front windows 20% to match rears
Plasti-dip grille shell
Grille insert
Color match valance
3-5" drop
Eibach sway bars
Spohn PHB
TBSS style 22s in gunmetal
305/40/22 Nittos
Debadge & remove running boards
Remove roof rack
Rollpan & relocated hitch
CAI
LTs & catback
Tune

I'm also going to be getting a different headunit and swapping LEDs in place of the factory bulbs.

I'm basically looking for what the best drop is. Norcal SS has been leaning me towards the DJM lower arms and TBSS rear springs, but before that I was going to go with spindles/keys and rear coils. What is your opinion for the best ride and handling and still being able to hold a good alignment? Also if you have any suggestions as far as the rest of the mods go please let me know :)

BTW I'll get some pics after I clean it up this weekend, its been snowing off and on around here and the roads are covered in salt :(

NorcalSS knows his stuff. I currently have spindles/keys and the Belltech TB coils on mine and I like it. I'm seriously considering pulling out the drop keys and trying the drop arms and spindles to see how I like that. Only time will tell. I'm in no rush though and I'm very pleased with how my truck rides. I'm on a 274/45/20 tire.

for 3/5 the kit i offer is great.

here is a customers 3/5 with 305 40 22 I set up. He had the mcgaughy springs in before and then switched to my tb coils and ride is better and sat lower.

You will also need to cut the rear bumpstop brackets off the frame for this set up for a good ride. In my kits I also include new rear bumpstops which no one else does on their kits which I dont understand why.

Not trying to thread jack, but why does the kit include bumpstops if the entire bracket is getting cut off? Is it in case the user doesn't have access to/doesn't want to cut the brackets off?

I always thought it was in case they couldn't get the bracket off, but just wanted to make sure.

If you go 4 inches or more on these trucks and dont cut off the bracket completly the ride suffers. The bumpstop I include with my kit drill and taps into the frame its about 9/16 of a inch tall so that when people come down ******* the rear it doesnt make frame to axle contact.

By cutting of the rear bumpstop bracket off the frame and adding the bumpstops in my kit you still get 3 inches more travel.

If you keep the oe bumpstop bracket on the frame and do a 5 inch rear drop you have 3/4 inch of travel at most.

Rides nice and I can adjust the rear up an inch with the helper bags, critical if you plan to tow anything. I'll probably be swapping my drop keys out for djm upper and lower arms and some QA1 or Fox shocks, otherwise the truck is a hood and esky rack away from being done far as the exterior is concerned. Hope that helps

Oh ok, I didn't know you put them directly into the frame. Thanks for clearing that up.

Sexy as hell man, I love your Denali :Handshake: Makes me want to do a 4-6" drop, but I think a 3-5" will be more user friendly. And I plan to tow eventually unless I get rid of a couple vehicles and get a 2500. Helper bags are in my future :)

Norcal SS do you have a setup for a 5.5" rear drop? I would hate to get your setup and cut the springs but it seems like the 5" drop springs sit a touch high for my liking. A half inch more I think would be perfect, but I understand every vehicle is different.

^^Or maybe its just the shape of the body that makes the rear look higher because the fender gaps look even. :dunno:

you can do the belltech springs 5305 since they have dead coils which you can cut and wont affet ride. Ive been using those for 5.5-6 inch now drops.

It would add about $35 dollars to the kit but gives you a easy option.
