04 with 130k mostly all highway miles. I switched the hoe to Mobil1 when she had idk like 12 to 15,000 miles on her & used ever since. oil & filter changes between 3 to 4,000 miles & so far no oil loss problem.
If you see no oil leaks or signs of seepage spread under your ride.
HAve you replace sparkplugs lately? If so did you see oil on the sparkplugs? If so could be a sign of piston rings going out. Look for bluish smoke from exhaust. check cooling system for oil.
I'd get it checked out. Maybe a compression test

He is right. Just to top of.. If your oil ring is out its going to smoke glue. White smoke would have something to do with gaskets and water. Black smoke something to do with fuel.. ex too rich..

As far as cooling system it should look like peanut butter if it mixed with oil. Lucas sales a fluid you put in your engine oil to seal and stop the water and oil mixture (temporary fix).

I am at 172k in a '03 5.3 Yukon and I am down a quart by the time oil change comes around. I use 5w-30 Royal purple and yeah, its expensive....I am thinking about going to the high mileage stuff.

the mobil 1 is great, as is royal purple. down a quart is no big deal. dont bother with any checks or replacing parts unless it starts smoking or using a lot more oli.
