Please Help Engine Noise Low oil Pressure????

well would a collapsed lifter cause the oil pressure to be low???

im scared to drive the truck with the low oil pressure the video shows what it sits at idle and then giving it gas...
has anyone had thgis happen ??

only if it was leaking but it would not hardly effect it that much. The biggest players in pressure is pump output capacity, pressure regulator, bearing clearances and pump clearances.

Might be what sc said but for me it was the crankshaft that was worn due to rust on it from sitting and i had to get it overhauled and now good as new

Does the knocking diminish when the speed and pressure goes up?

Yea the bearings were also lover worn

no its actually a tad louder as its warmed up never goes away...
the reason im confused is that this noise was not there b4 the intake gasket manifold was replaced?

Would you be willing to try undoing one spark wire at a time and run try to see if noise changing. I thought lifter noise before but with pressure that low and no decrease change in sound if it was a lifter leaking out pressure you engine would be running rough to because of a damage lifter based on there design. The oil holes for those are just not as big as oil galley for main or rod bearing. The contaminated oil may have sat in a bearing to long. before restarting. the oil could have sludged a little to block filter and the bypass would go into effect letting solid debris in the passage ways to the bearing.

I just bought a quart of marvel mystery oil. I was about a half a quart low so I put about half a quart of marvel in there. I also put about 6oz of it in the tank. Time shall tell what happens

I have a 2001 pontiac Montana with 155000 miles that had a collapsed (stuck) lifter after my Xwife drove it 30.000 miles without ever changing oil(long story but I got stuck with the van after she could not make the payments) i flushed the engine,And have been running the Marvell Mystery oil for 2 yrs the engine is quiet and has given no more problems.
