Told u. That there cost me $1300 because I know some guys but it should cost u around $1500 from a good mechanic

O yea u need the complete overhaul because no one will do just the bearings trust me I would have just put. In bearings if I could o well new parts

same thing on my blazer (s10). The intake was leaking into the engine and trashed the lower bearings. I had the intake redone but the damage was already done. Best part was that I had literally just finished paying off on the car loan.

well ive got quote s for 1800 on the low end to 2700 on the high end ...i dont know what to do??

on one hand if done right i will have a very dependable vehicle for years to come...
and on the other hand i feel like i got took on the deal...

see i bought this vehicle under the pretense it was drivable and in not that bad of condition ...i bought a vehicle that needs a new engine ...i have the title ...but the guy i bought it from will not return my calls ...so i know he knew he screwed me....i have 1400.00 in the truck so theress not doubt itsworth fixing ...i just wasnt ready for all this...

everyone ive talked to says that it needs a long block ....
why not a short block??

A new stock tinned long block is now $1800 froms jegs. I also beleive the warranty may be as high as 3 years or 100,000 miles. They have a core charge of $100 but just keep it as it may cost more to send it back and you can either toy with it or sell it off for more. At any rate for that price you can afford to do other upgrades in the process.

Just do it it's worth it. I got mine for $500 years back and spent over 2k just fir trans and engine so yea it's still cheap on my end

ditto, just do it. I paid 1500 for my hoe with 103k on it. Ended up having to sink another $1200 to replace the trans although I upgraded to the 80e and did it myself. She's rock solid now.

That danged blazer is collecting dust tho

man you are talking about the cost of the engine alone 1500.00 im talking about motor and installed for 1800.00

i traded my ar 15 for it ....i atleast thought id get 6months...
