Plug found un-plugged

the amp with the 2 connectors looks ok. that other pic, where is that located. i thought it was the BCM(body control module) but it the bcm has a plastic housing.

If you'd be setting in the passenger seat, that plug would plug into a female connector, that would be upside down, like facing the windshield. That female
connector is mounted to a metal plate, with another similar next to it, which is plugged in.

To me, it looks like it would be mounted below where the passenger side air bag is located.

Could it be #13, if it is. it's referred to as a receiver for maybe onstar or navigation or a communications module.

That could very well be, I do have Onstar which I've never tried. The previous owner may have disconnected it. I'm the 2nd owner.
Would that have anything to do with the message center on the dashboard? That has never worked.

As was mentioned try plugging it in. Some disconnect On Star thinking they can’t be tracked

Your 2000 Tahoe, if I remember right, came with an Analog Only OnStar system and when OnStar switched to a digital system, they probably just unplugged it since it was not able to be upgraded.

There is a chance it could be the On Star plug that was disconnected when On Star discontinued support for the older Tahoe's. I unplugged mine ,blue plug behind the glove box as 3 G was no longer supported. I had a 2000 Tahoe LT.

I agree with Doubeleive, looks like the amp. I have a 2001 gmc yukon slt and that's where my amp is but it could have to do with onstar too. If I remember I will look at mine tomorrow cause mine has onstar. I will look and see if my blue plug is still plugged in. How do you tag someone on here, I've never figured out how

Harness connectors disconnected usually means accessories have been removed or updated. We made the switch from analog to digital OnStar on our 06 Denali. It was $250 and we got 200 free calling min w/ the swap and a year of service.

07 & 08 OnStar modules have two antenna connections and four harness input connections. One of the harness connections is not used.

The option for BT came 09/10 OnStar modules picked up an extra antenna connector used just for a BT antenna.

2011 OnStar modules were made by LG and they no longer had the 3rd antenna connection for the BT antenna, it was internal.

There’s a possibility the past owner of the truck pulled one of the harness connections for OnStar to disable it from being tracked. Another possibility is they removed a CoStar/BlueStar module for VIM (Vehicle in Morion) Nav input, BT and Movies in the head unit and left it hanging there and it’s now just a wye connection not being used.
