What do you guys think - do larger plug wires make a difference in performance? I put 8.8mm wires on my 95 Tahoe a few years back (for 2x the cost of normal wires) and I swear it made a difference. Although I am prepared to accept that it was a complete placebo effect.

I think normal wires are 7.0mm if I'm not mistaken.

And now I can't find 8.8mm, they have to be custom built if I want them.

What say you? Get em or don't worry about it?

Thanks

Custom build that it's not that hard and you can run them the way you want. I've done the last two sets on my Tahoe, worth every cent.

Also AutoZone has Accel 300+ custom build wires for about $30 less then Jegs and Summit for the same part number.

So use AC Delco, Borg Warner,MSD, or ACCEL wire cap and rotor?

Accel had copper leads on the rotor cap
Borg W had brass
And AC Delco uses aluminum or something?

Does that matter?

Read bad reviews on ACCEL and MSD.... As in they crapped out after 6months, idled rough, etc.

Guess there is a reason they use Delco OEM?

What say you?

So went AC Delco everything this time, standard stuff, 7mm wires and dist cap that has the aluminum or what ever looking leads. Did go with the platinum tipped Delco plugs.

I can't tell a difference in performance from when I use all MSD high performance stuff, 8.5mm wires, copper leads on the dist cap, etc...
