My plug isn't really bad, but I'm thinking of swapping it out since I'm draining the oil. It does come out...I just want to replace it before any issues.

Looked and looked and cant find part number for it.

Anyone know this?

Make sure you can remove the fill plug before removing the drain plug. Sometimes the fill plug is seized and you can’t refill the diff.

I did. It does come out all the way.

Just looking to replace it. Not a necessity but a desire.

I said FILL plug. Believe me, there’s plenty of people who remove the drain plug, drain all the fluid, THEN find out the FILL plug won’t come out and they’re screwed. You can’t add fluid into the drain plug. Happens a lot in the rust belt. Just a heads up. Not sure on the drain plug- are you talking the one in the cover? I think you just need to buy the cover with the bolt in it, they’re not expensive, maybe $20.
Another ‘dig’ at my rusty ass trucks...;)

almost time to move outta here...

Thank you swathdiver SOOOO much.

Ordered it. Not cheap for a silly plug...but the any bad alternatives are worse..:)
@new2yukon am I mistaken or did you originally ask about the drain plug? I am hoping I’m not getting so old I make mistakes like that but anything is possible!
