Hello,

I have a 2007 GMC Yukon Denali and I am hearing strange noises coming from under the hood. It happens when I step on the gas and start to accelerate. However it also happens when in park and i rev the engine. So it is related to increase in RPM. It kinda sounds like it is not drawing in air right and the air is escaping. So I am guessing there is an issue with the air intake, but I could just be completely wrong.

Anyone have an idea as to what the issue might?

Help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum Tarik. You'll want to pop the hood and inspect all the connections from the airbox to the engine and then inspect the air filter. If something got loose, it would likely affect how the engine runs and throw a trouble code or two.

Tarik,
Welcome to the forum. There are a lot of knowledgeable folks here with a ton of insight.

Have you had any work done on the vehicle lately? Did it just start out of the blue?

Is your Service Engine Light on or any messages on your message center?

I sure hope not :/

If it is your intake manifold, depending on how you are with turning wrenches, it’s not that hard to swap out an intake manifold gasket. That being said, you would likely be getting a Service Engine Light.

Well recently, we had repairs done to the radiator because it was leaking, but I don't think it is causing the problem now. Radiator seems to be good since fixing it. Check engine light has been on for some time. I will check the intake connections as soon as I can today and will get back.

It’s very possible that your air intake got bumped or tweaked when they worked on your radiator so I’d double check all the connections between your filter housing and your intake manifold.

Do you have a OBD2 scan tool? Would be interesting to see what codes you have. If not, Autozone can get them for you.

I guess the question I'd have now is why was work done on your radiator? Did you have a leak or plugged cores that may have lead to your engine running hot? if so, it's not hard to warp a cylinder head or damage your intake and/or gasket.
