Hey guys I recently bought a 2002 Tahoe with the 5.3 and 4x4. It had 208,000 when I got it and now it has 210,000. I am fairly sure the motor is original but I wonder if the transmission is? I just put in a used transfer case with only 20k miles on it since the nice guy I got it from told me the 4x4 worked.

Also wondering if I should bring it in for a transmission fluid exchange at the dealer or if I should just keep driving it? Any common problems to look for with this mileage too? It seems to be a great truck, I love it and I'll be around here for a while! Thanks, Jeff

Also was wondering if anyone had a link or could give me a history in year by year changes for the Tahoe / Yukon family. Thanks!

I bought my truck with 186K miles on it. The shop that I had look over the truck told me that there is a good chance that the tranny is original. I changed out the fluid (just dropped the pan, not a whole exchange) and the transmission is doing fine about 5000 miles later. I wouldn't do a exchange as it may ruin the transmission.
