Just recently my power lift gate will open but it will not close. It won't close on any method key fob, inside button, or the button on back of lift gate. What could it be? My warranty ran out June 26th don't you think they should cover that since it close to warranty? Why does it open and not close?
Thanks

I think so. You should go and talk directly to the service manager at the dealership.

I would be curruios to find out what is wrong with yours since mine quit working recently, but my warranty expired a long time ago. Could you please post what the problem is when you get it fixed.

I took apart the rear lift gate assembly and checked to see if the sensor that rides on the actuator arm for the lift gate might not be working but it checked out fine. I concluded that the lift struts have been replaced and when the lift arm goes up it bottoms out on the struts and shuts off and will not go back down automatically because it has powered off. I wonder if the new aftermarket struts are too short by a few mm. So I guess a trip to the stealership is in order and I have read they can reprogram the lift gate, if not then new factory struts will need to be purchased.

You shoulda started a new thread instead of digging up a 5 year old thread :imo: but I digress... reading some older threads I think people with this issue fixed it by getting new struts. My '11 Yukon doesn't have the power lift gate but the struts were going out, and I gound some on amazon with 5/5 star reviews for ~$47 and people on there were saying it was way better then the OEM ones. I'd look into those if I were you.
