Power Liftgate Help

I had a quick question that i wanted to know if anyone has experienced with the power liftgate on an 07 escalade. the liftgate will open automatically with the button on the key fob as well as from the inside button. The problem is that when the button on the liftgate is pressed to automatically close, it will make the sound like its trying close, but wont move. The strange thing is that if i press the button on the lift gate to close before the liftgate opens completely, it closes fine. I have checked to make sure the liftgate is not locked from teh switch inside the car, and still have the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

powered lift gate wont close

I have the same problem on my 07 LTZ, do you know what it took to fix it? The rear lift gate opens and then makes a clunking noise at full open and then powers off and just stays there. It will not close with any buttons, so I then carefully lower it.
