So yesterday I replaced my alternator and I figured while I was at it I might as well change my power steering pump because it had some hard spots and it was whining. Well long story short alot of swearing, bleeding knuckles, and $200 worth of tool renting, I finally got the dang thing out. Realized the one I bought didn't have the electrical connector so I switch the one from the old pump to the new one and got it all installed. Put the pulley back on and noticed it wouldn't tighten all the down. I did the best I could and it lined up just fine.. Filled the power steering pump with fluid, jacked the front of my tahoe up went from lock to lock about 15 to 20 times, filled the pump back up and dropped the truck and now I have no power steering at idle or low speed it almost like the steering wheel is locking. I thought it might be air in the lines but no bubbles. Any idea what the heck is going on?
