Good to hear. I probably won't tell her she's being irrationally scared of them... that might get me killed. ;)

LOL no problem. A friend of mine with a Ford F150 had an issue with his hitting his knees because they came out soooo slow after the door opened. The GM ones are quick like the Amp Research ones. That's the only issue I see with power steps. Also if you live up north, you can always leave them folded in for the winter time as there is a button for that in the interior.

They do have anti-pinch. (At least the 2009 I have does)

Pro-tip....if you want to clean them while washing the rest of the truck.

1) Open door (step drops)
2) Close door
3) Before step lifts, put your foot on it to keep it forced down
4) Wash, etc.
5) Open/Close door to return to normal

Thanks for the tip. My wife will be much happier knowing they're not going to gobble up our 4 year old.

That's been my reaction. I still wouldn't have gotten them had they been a separate option but I'm willing to at least give them a shot now.

Or super pro tip... Press the button that keeps them extended for washing LOL

Power Steps

FWIW, GM products with power steps usually sell for less @ auction
than those without them.
