I have a '96 Yuon SLE. I am in the process of replaceing the fuel feed line. MY issue is the rear strap on the fuel tank. I began to loosen the bolt, and able to back it out about a half an inch. Then it began to spin freely as if I needed to hold a nut. There is no nut to hold. I then tried to tighten it back up and it spins freely that direction as well. Am I missing somthing here? I was able to remove the strap towards the front of the tank with no problems, and it sems that bolt is threaded into the crossmember. I assume the rear strap is bolted in the same way, especially because of the limited access to the topside of the crossmember. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I think I have to cut the bolt manually, afraid of a spark from cutting wheel cause of fuel leak. So I was searching for replacement bolts and found this dorman part #55157. Its a replacement bolt and nut. The nut looks like its welded to a large washer that would prevent it from spining in the crossmember since you cant get a tool up there. I think that the weld on the nut failed on me and now it wont back out. Did that make sense? LOL

Ok.....was able to saw off the ruseted bolt. dropped the tank and removed the rotted fuel line. my next issue is the old fuel connection at the fuel pump is the plastic quick disconnect. my new line has the metalo coupling. What do I do now? Is there an adapter I need or am I screwed with the wrong part?
