Problem with factory nav system

I have an 04 with a bose system factory nav installed.
While on a route the nav voice system seems to repeat message every few seconds.
For example:

Stay on current road for 2 miles
Stay on current road for 1.8 miles
Stay on current road for 1.6 miles

etc etc etc

It's so annoying!!! that I want to replace it with aftermarket head unit

Any ideas??

the navigation is worse than the nissan pathfinders-- and that one was pretty bad.

how the hell are you supposed to find streets when the cross streets arent even listed on the freaking nav screen-- that really pisses me off


anyone have a nav manual they want to sell or know of a link to download it-- the damn dealership didnt give me one and of course want 159 bucks for a hardcopy.

anyone have a newer nav disc version
