Try switching the positive and negative on the new speaker as well.

I switched the plugs around in the converter and the problem switched sides. Is this a wire issue?

Yes sounds like. To be sure get a new RCA cable of any quality and run it from the converter to the amp. Don't run it neatly yet just above the carpet to check the signal. See what happens.

Any kind will do. Just for testing.

So I went to a car audio shop and talked with the guy there. He thinks the precious owner wired the system bad, and it needs to be rewired with new cables and such. Also, I noticed there's no fuse box at the battery, is that bad? Also, would i need something like this when I get it rewired? http://www.mobilesoundworks.com/Pro...k=Pac-SOEM-4&gclid=CK3YsbaCgbwCFUjNOgodaUQAWw cause the box on there is only a 2 channel and i feel like getting a new one would be a good idea

Go to walmart get a schoshe amp kit and a line output converter and you will be 50 out the door. Do it yourself you will appreciate it. Gotta learn sometime. You can't mess it up. Just take your time. Ask any questions you may have.

Just took a quick look at those, what's the difference between all the different gauged wires? Is a thicker gauge better? Also, if I get a four channel converter, won't I need two sets of rca cables? And also, what in the hell is all this? This JUST goes to the sub

Yes. Your system doesn't look liked it was wired poorly at all. Quality wires were used and everything is run neat. Just get a new RCA cable and start from there

The current converter is 2 output but somehow it goes to a 4 output as seen here. Now nobody has this "2 to 4" rca cable anywhere. So should I pick up a 4 output converter and two sets of rca cables?

Also I'm wicked confused as to why it has the rca inputs AND speaker wire inputs? What's the point of that?
