I already went through all that had to get two new fobs. The steps worked perfectly, but what I didn't know was that my tahoe 04 already had remote start (factory) and holding the unlock for as long as I did made it start on its own.
04 with factory remote start ? Are you sure ?

Was there a factory remote start for the nbs? I've never heard of it, and my Denali came fully loaded. I've seen aftermarket systems that tie into the factory alarm, though. I've been looking at buying one of those.

Ive seen several members now say they've found a factory remote installed on their nbs after finding a random sequence that activated. The one I thought of first was @06LTZ , he posted up a thread a while back when he got his truck after finding a random sequence on his key fob that started his truck. I tried it with mine but no such luck haha. I thought maybe mine might have it because my 2006 Denali is fully loaded as well.

I'm just going to buy an add on. I have a cool kit in my amazon cart right now that starts the truck with three presses of the lock button. 50 bucks or so. It'll be useful to me because my school's in a frozen ghetto and I'm not keen on leaving a key in the truck.

I won't have such luck lol. Was gonna get a viper 2way and install it myself since these trucks are easy to work on like legos lol.
I had the wife's car (2015 Chrysler) programmed to push the lock button 3 times and it auto starts, but didn't know if that was possible with our old ass trucks. Might look into that, thanks @05alive

@05alive , I'd love a link to that kit! I want a remote start but don't want a separate remote to carry around for it. Lol any idea on what the challenge level is to install that kit? Wondering if I could install myself. I livid a ski town so it's a,ways cold in the inter. Not so much of a issue with starting it at hi,e and leaving key in it to warm it up. But when I close nights at the coffee shop that I'm also working at I always worry about my key being in it too so it would be nice to have it auto start.

In case anyone else was wondering, the programming is the same for the 00-02 trucks, but the remote itself is different. Found out the hard way lol, wasted $15.
