Programming new key?

My 2015 Denali also came with one RKE fob bought another one on eBay from a locksmith for around $70-$80 don't remember and when the sales manager asked me if there was anything else he could do for me ? I said yes program my new RKE fob and cut the hidden key inside the RKE fob .... They did it for free... I tried programming myself step by step like in the owner's manual couldn't do no it at home , in hind sight when I bought the used truck I should have negotiated for the extra key and be ready to walk away ...... Hope this helps ...

Called my local lock smith, says he can cut the key for 35 bucks and program at the same time.

Does the key have the control chip in it, noob? I think that $35.00 must be for the labor and not for the control chip key???

35 is for the cut, I bought a key and fob from gmparts

Key came in from GM parts direct, was listed as transmitter WITH KEY, and had a part number that ended in 2 instead of 1 and listed as transmitter W/O key. I bought the one WITH key, there was only the FOB in the package.

I emailed gmpartsdirect, and it said the listing wasn't correct and it does not come with the key blade (which is not listed under 2017 escalade ESV btw). Told me I can refund the key if I want. If I would have known beforehand, I would have purchased elsewhere that comes WITH key. Ordered a key blade off Amazon for 9 bucks.
