Del, i got your email as well. i wanted to say thanks for your help on this one. Maybe its worth a shot to see what happens to the stock internals. lol When you had the vortech, did you need a bigger fuel pump and injectors? or just a regulator?

Procomp- haha this stuffs addicting. problem is, i already have all the parts for majority of everything, i just need time to do it and for this winter chill to be out of the air! lol

The Vortech kit came with a spacer with two injectors in it, that went between the throttle body and the intake manifold. They just T’d into the fuel line ahead of the throttle body. They used a “in line” fuel pump to assist the stock pump in the tank. I might have one of those pumps in my parts room. If I find it, it’s yours.

They had a “black box” that controlled the injectors based on manifold pressure. The small box had “potted” electronics in it, so I never knew exactly how it worked. Whatever it was, they just started pulsing the injectors as soon as the pressure went positive.

There was no connection or alteration of the stock ECM. There was also their version of a MSD ignition box, with a manual control for dialing back timing. The ignition box looked identical to the MSD box except for the color.

I don’t remember changing regulators until later on with boost increases. It’s been a few years. Lol I will have to see if I have some old pictures to figure it out. That will be my homework for today……….

haha thanks man! so maybe i wont need to pull the tank right away since i stored it this winter with 30 gallons ha.

i know they used to sell a similar setup to that "msd box" as you were talking about it.. It just ended on Ebay the other day.
They call it the fuel enrichment system, same concept as to what your talking about, only with the whipple decal.

That’s it, that’s the fuel controller. The Ignition box was a separate deal. If you had one of these kits, you would not have to screw around with the program…..

Makes it all so simple. I thought these kits came with the whipple originally.

it may have? I've only seen 2 of those fuel controllers in the past 3 yrs looking for a whipple. one on ebay and one in craigslist. I talked to Brian at TBIchips.com and he was saying those are only for when you want to just add a blower to your stock truck, once you start modding other stuff (exhaust, heads and cam and such) then you will need a chip. With a chip then, you will not need that controller.

So i just took not having one of those controllers as a positive and im just going to get a chip burned once i can get everything installed and get a laptop in the truck to monitor everything then send Brian the readings... unless you know how to burn chips :) lol
