Can someone tell me what projectors work well with the TYC headlights?

What's a good brand projector to get?

Thanks!

Low beam only: S2000

Bi-Xenon: Mini H1, FX-R (very tight squeeze), RX-350 (close but i think the D2S socket won't clear).

I'm talking about the low beam part of the housing without having to trim any of the frame behind the housing ... if you wanted quads, the high beam part of the housing cannot be retrofitted with any projector without cutting into the metal beam behind it.

There might be other projectors that will work but it's a trial and error thing. But there's a thread on HIDplanet with projector measurements that you can compare to the MH1 and FX-rs in order to estimate fitment.

Thanks for the response. I'm just doing low beam.

Can those be bought on ebay or where do you get them?

When you say low beam do you mean you're only doing a low beam only projector to replace your low beam reflector beam, or do you mean you're only doing the low beam part of your housing with a b-x projector?

Sorry, it makes a difference. :)

Where do you get your S2000 projectors from serge?

S2K projectors are one of the best projectors ever made, their throw and width is something to behold. There are 2 versions AP1/AP2, the only difference is the slope of the step of the shield (so far as I know).

They are rare because they are mostly reclaimed from the few Honda S2000s out there and they are expensive (around $300 give or take a few $ for a mint set).

You can contact Matt at TRS to see if he has a set, or you can post a 'wanted' thread on HIDP and some of the more established members seem to have some hoarded away.

You are over my head. I have a very good car and electronics guy that has done this before but not on a tahoe. I'm trying to get him what he needs but want to do it right.

Can you tell me what I need or what you would recommend in order to make it work? I know to get TYC headlight but have no clue what projectors to get.

I just want them to be for regualr everyday driving in my headlights, no high beam.

Okay well the S2K projector setup, albeit an expensive one, is probably the highest quality retro one can do on a Hoe ... let's put it this way, if I had a Hoe that's what I'd put on mine.

So you'll need:

S2000 projectors
Clear lenses if you want a sharp cutoff (no need for lens swap if you prefer the more hazy oem cutoff)
Shrouds (probably Gatling cause they match the tahoe design perfectly)
Ballasts (35W Denso recommended, or Morimoto 3Five or 5Five to save $)
D2S bulbs (those can run from $50 to $200 depending on the quality and output)
Harness

Honestly, the best thing to do is call Matt at theretrofitsource, tell him serge referred you, and he'll walk you through the entire process.

Are your sure your guy knows how to retrofit projectors?
These are expensive parts to be fumbling around with.

Well he says he does but after seeing your list, Im not so sure.

Maybe its best to just get them done from someone else and have them sent to me?
