Okay good.

I think there's a retrofitter in Dallas, I have to dig up some HIDP posts cause I can't remember.

I would recommend against doing this retro long distance if there's any way to avoid it. If you're going to be spending the $ for top shelf components the last thing you want is an uneven cutoff which is all but inevitable without having the vehicle present during the process.

For some folks it's the only solution if they have no one qualified near them, but it's to be avoided if possible. Plus you want someone to go to should there ever be an issue.

Makes sense!

This looks like a lot more work than I thought. I had no idea it took that much to do this. This process takes a long time, if its in Dallas I can't set there for a few days with my car.

I thought someone could just do it all with the TYC lights and send me them when done?

It takes a day to do it. Come in in the morning and by the evening you're driving out with your retro.

The other alternative is this: http://blackflamecustoms.com/produc...-avalanche-projector-retrofit-headlights-p-94

They are a vendor here: http://tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=90

You can contact JB and ask him how much more to substitute the MH1s with S2Ks ... I'd guess it'd be a couple of hundred bucks more.

With the BFC option, is there is risk of an uneven cutoff? I am in NW Arkansas and looking at a similar retrofit but don't know of anyone local. The BFC option appeals to me if I can be reasonably confident of an even cutoff. I have a 2012 Denali.

With any long distance retrofit, uneven cutoff is more than a low risk, it is a likelihood. It's not a matter of up/down cause that can be adjusted manually on the housings ... but to get both projectors completely horizontal without either or both being over rotated to one side is incredibly difficult without the vehicle being there. There's just no way for a retrofitter to tell how the housings sit on each vehicle.

This isn't a huge deal for most folks as it doesn't affect output, it's more of an OCD thing ... and a good retrofitter will get them pretty close to even on the horizontal plane.

If that's what you want then just buy the new Hella bi-led projectors ... a lot easier to retro and a $700 each they're a bargain. :)
