I will likely buy a Warn in the future but my project is on a very tight budget. I can hardly justify spending $1800 on a winch when I have less then $1200 in the total truck. I will be fabricating the bumper to fit whatever I end up with. Can anyone recommend a brand other then Warn or Ramesy? With an emphasis on price and high load, I don't plan on doing much mudding.

They just did a winch shootout in the july issue of Four WHeeler magazine. The winch that came in fouth out of the eight only cost like $300 but Warn came in first in price and performance. Check it out.

there was a member on here running a promark and gave it great a great review. thinking about dropping a promark on the front of the Hoe. other than it being a little slower than the warns i have yet to find a bad review of them and their customer service was very quick to answer my questions.

I was not able to locate this in the cached files on Four Wheeler website, did you find it elsewhere or do you have a subscription?

I am also trying to find some form of bumper designs to referance mine against for structural integrity, anyone come across written or online material?

I stopped in at my local 4x4 center yesterday and they had a new display for the VR series of Warn entry level winches. The VR12000 was retailing at $892.00 Cdn plus tax, roughly twice what the ProMark 12000 Silverback was listed for on their website. I think I will bite the bullet and wait till I can get the Warn.
