The Tahoe LTZ does not have a rear mounted DVD system

Okay so without a sunroof, or the rear DVD (sun/destination package), or the power running boards, you are basically talking about the least optioned LTZ possible, so it's gotta be under $50K to even be a conversation starter, otherwise I'd pass on it regardless of the Esky alternative.

For the same price you can almost buy a a 2012 Premium with low miles ... I bought mine almost a year ago with 19K for around $56K, so it should be around $50 by now (just like a new LTZ) about now, or it will be when the ball comes down in Times Square in a couple of months.

Maybe you should tell us what they're willing to sell you these trucks for so we can tell you if either one is a good stand alone deal, regardless of what you can buy them for relative to each other. It could be that both are good deals, both are bad deals, or either one or the other is a good/bad deal ... the fact that the Esky is cheaper to buy right now doesn't really define anything.

Make sense?

Months?

47 Days :)

Quite honestly I would wait til the N3BS hits the lots and then get a nnbs Escalade premium.

2011 Esclde- AWD Luxury - 46,900

2013 Tahoe LTZ 4x4 - 49,950

The sticker on the LTZ was around 60k - they are trying to move it. The Escalade is under KBB - and seems to be a decent deal in comparison to others I've seen in the area.

These are in So Cal

They are both decent deals tbh, although an 11 Luxury should be closer to $45K ... keep in mind that both the next gen Tahoe and Esky will hit dealer lots in about three months, but the Tahoe you're looking at will take a bigger depreciation hit simply because it is new by merely driving it off the lot. The Esky will also depreciate more than normal on account of the new gen but it won't take the more significant new car hit.

It's a tough call, both are actually great vehicles, so I don't think you'll find a great deal of fault with either one of them at those prices. Personally I'm a sucker for WDT and don't care much for silver on Escalades so I'd roll the Hoe just for that reason.

Of course there's always option three, which is to find a well priced newer Denali, which will give you the Escalade 6.2 and AWD with an LTZ equivalent interior, priced somewhere tween the two.

great advice so far - another question though, with the new model coming out, are the current gen Escalades just going to plummet in price? Or will they hold? Would waiting five months or so yield a way better deal you think?

Prices will drop but who knows by how much.

That silver on cream is a pretty rare combination where I am from.
