Did you install it yourself? I am a n00b and I would like to install it myself if it has instructions available.

I did the install myself.

It did come with instructions, but you have to be comfortable with running wires under panels and soldering wires onto the subwoofer outputs at the stock amp.

I have mine tucked away because I have to haul stuff in the back every now and then...

Custom car stereo in Houston did the work. It's a JL W1 10" in a sealed box powered by a 250 watt PPI amp (IIRC), soon to be a PPI PCX280, with the sub amp being used to power the front components. And the amp is bolted down, it is not loose in there. It is unbolted in the picture b/c I was working on it. Sounds great, just loud enough without being obnoxious, but it bumps if you want it to.

And the sub and amp have both survived my car getting broken into twice, if I had it sitting in the cargo area with the amp stashed under a seat, it would be long gone.

How much did that cost you?

thehoe92,

That is absolutely ridiculous, are your ears ok?
my ears are fine... for now I know everyone says that I will be deaf but as of right now having a mid 40's system for a year I have only noticed a tiny bit of hearing loss but for the most part I can hear fine.

I am planning on running 2 18's next on close to 8,000 watts or 4 15's on the same power.

a t-line is a transimission line 1/4 wave lenth.
it is supposed to be the perfect environment for a sub with total control over the cone and in theory you only need about half the RMS

You can probably build the setup yourself with some MDF and some power tools for pretty cheap. The sub goes for about $110, and you can pick up good amps on ebay for cheap (make sure it's a reputable seller though so you don't get a dead amp).

I bought it from a friend for $250 for everything, but I believe he paid close to $1,000 for it installed in his tahoe with sub, amp and wiring.
