got my better half an 04 tahoe in june and the factory 6 disc bose had some faded buttons and i wanted to swap it out.

found a touchscreen nav radio with antenna and map disc for it that i want to get and put in my truck. just want to see if anyone has experience doing this and any advice.

getting a decent deal on the radio so i want to make it work.

Did you get the non-lux unit? If so, the install is super easy. Remove the old radio and install the new one. Take the top part of the dash off and install the antenna. If the radio has been VIN-cleared, then you won't have to do anything other than enjoy it. If not, dealer has to clear it for you. Be careful removing the dash top because that sunlight sensor is super easy to break. I made that mistake!

you got me on the non-lux question. its the touchscreen navi.

the guy had it in his 03 rcsb silverado but without the bose system and only his 2 speakers it was too quiet for him. its a good local transaction so im not worried about him trying to sell me a unit i cant use since were gonna plug it in and possibly run the antenna tonight. if its not vin cleared we have ways of doing that without paying the dealer but i think it is.
