Had some issues installing the Bilstein 5100s in the front today. I tried to install the highest ring #4 but could not get the strut to fit back in so I had to change to 3. I also had to undo the top ball joint to get enough room to put it in. Then when tightening the ball joint back up the shaft just started spinning and I can't get the nut tight or back off. I order some new moog upper control arms and will have to take it all back apart and probably cut that f***ing ball joint out. Hope the driver side goes smoother. The new ones aren't arriving until friday and sunday so my truck is pretty much out of commission until then and I'll have to find something else to work on.

After watching this video I found the solution to my spinning ball joint problem and I feel kind of dumb it took this long to solve. They mention how you can put a 6mm allen wrench in the bottom of the ball joint to keep it from spinning and this allowed me to get it tightened up.

Had to do some trimming to get the 285/70r17 tire to fit on the front passenger side. The lift in the front isn't very much with the Bilstein 5100 set on the third setting of 1.18" and the offset of the wheels is -12. Overall the front is now 2" higher at 38" with the shocks and tires.

Since switching my shocks and trying to bypass the autoride the stabilitrak and traction control warning lights have been on, as well as the ABS light. I ordered a BlueDriver to diagnose and clear the codes. It's throwing code C0045 for the left rear wheel speed sensor malfunction. I took off the sensor and it didn't look very dirty. Tried cleaning the surface with sandpaper but the error is still being thrown. I'm thinking now maybe the wire got stretched when I was replacing the springs so I ordered a new sensor and will give that shot.

The wheel speed sensor connection was a little loose so that was an easy fix.

Installed t-mobile SyncUp Drive today to get wifi and hooked up an echo dot. I'm curious to see what information it will provided by connecting to the obd port.

So far I'm pretty satisfied with the t-mobile SyncUp Drive. The music hasn't lost connection, it comes with roadside assistance and provides some interesting information. It will also send you message if your vehicle is disturbed while it's parked. Here's a screen shot of information it provides about a trip.

Tint was peeling off my driver side door so I had replaced with Wincos 30 tint. This stuff is really good at blocking the radiant heat. My windshield had some chips and the shop gave me $100 to replace it which pretty much covered the tint replacement so I was happy.

The rear liftgate window switch button fell off the last time I went through the car wash. It was a 2 minute fix and the hardest part was fishing the short connector out of hole with a needle nose.
