Quality lift kits?

yeah I am not sure I want to go 6" just for the sake if my wife has to drive it. I mean a leveling kit up to 4" maybe max.

You need to keep in mind that installing aftermarket keys and cranking them to get anywhere near 4" of lift is going to kill the ride quality. Bottom line is that for every inch you crank you lose an inch of available downtravel. So coming off a sharp rise the truck will tend to pitch forward.

Tuff Country and Skyjacker have mid-level lifts for these trucks IIRC. To find out more about the lifts, you can go online and download the lift instructions to see what parts it includes and how the lift is achieved.

If you want to wade in slowly, you could the stock keys all the way, then add whatever rear spacer is appropriate, maybe 1" or so. If you are still ok with the ride, then maybe get keys and crank a little more.

I am either doing a leveling kit. There is no way I would crank the keys like that. I like quality over quantity. It was a leveling kit or up to a 4" kit.

Are your keys turned up at all. I think I want my front to sit a little higher then yours is... not much just an inch or so. maybe its the angle of the picture.

You're not going to get a good ride or "quality" from anything that is just cranking the torsion bars over 2". Keys are keys.

If you want quality, go with a good 4" kit like the Rancho or similar. You're not going to like driving on any washboard roads on the way out to camp sites with keys cranked 3" and only having an inch or two of down travel left (been there, trust me on this one lol.... )

Don't rule out some of the "advertised" 6" kits like Rough Country or Superlift. As I previously mentioned some of these kits are really only 4-5" lifts that get the final 2" from turning up the torsion bars. I'd send a few inquiries to the companies and ask them how far the differential is dropped in their kits and use that number for the actual lift height.

Also FWIW, I'd give the Rough Country a really good look. Im partial to Rancho and Superlift (ran the Superlift on my silverado set at 5"), but the RC is a non torsion bar drop (NTB) kit and is priced very well. This wasn't an option when I lifted my truck..... I'll be getting a NTB kit this go around when I lift my Yukon XL

Off topic, but compared to the 4 door Wrangler I just got out of with a 4" pro comp suspension and 35" tires. My Tahoe with keys/spacer on 33" rides like a Cadillac with pillows for tires.
